BioWare cancels its four-on-one online RPG Shadow Realms
Shadow Realms, the distorted competitive online RPG from BioWare, has been cancelled, this may come as some kind of shock or surprise but some see it as the best thing that could happen for BioWare.
While the game was tested as recently as August buy a guy called Bertie, he claimed that it he had a pretty good time. Shadow Realms was originally slated for 2015 release on PC although they’re now looking into transferring the game into something much bigger, which now means users now think they have to wait until 2017, but they are wrong.
Sadly waiting till 2017 just isn’t the case. “We’ve made the decision to not move forward with development of Shadow Realms,” said BioWare Austin general manager Jeff Hickman.
Why? There’s so much that we as a community don’t know and what goes on behind the scenes is often portrayed as simple and easy although realistically we know that there jobs are difficult as hell, whether they are professionals or not. The studio have reportedly said that they would rather focus its efforts on other game titles such as Star Wars: The Old Republic.
“While the team did amazing work on the game concept and we got lots of great feedback from our fans at events and through other game testing, right now there are other projects for the team to work on within the BioWare studios for the coming year and beyond,” Hickman said. “These include additional ongoing enhancements to the award-winning Dragon Age: Inquisition, as well as the next game in the Mass Effect series and other new IP.”
