Ever wanted to say the words “Avengers, Assemble!” and it actually have meaning of purpose? Well, now you can. You can now control characters such as The Hulk, Iron Man, Captain America and the rest of the team along with your friends. Marvel Heroes is a new, free-to-play action-MMORPG which has been developed by Gazillion Entertainment.
Gazillion announced the MMO back in March and they always enforced it would be released in June. True to their word, the game has been released as of now. The beta testing has officially concluded and today the super-powered MMO was released to the world.
The free-to-play game was designed by David Brevik, fans may recognize this name behind the developer behind games such as Diablo and Diablo II. Knowing the capabilities behind these games, it only makes sense to presume that this Marvel MMO is going to be super powerful and packed full of action. We can come to expect lots of loot and lots of different leveling systems to mess with, which all in all… Sounds like good fun! The games story itself was written by Marvel’s own Brian Michael Bendis.
The game has been in building for “over three years” which indicates the level of thought that has been thrown around when it comes to the game which in-turn should lead to some amazing gameplay! To begin with, there’s a total of 21 super hereos as well as costumes, these costumes however have been inspired from “70 years of Marvel history”. This instantly makes us think of many old school classics returning to this hit new online MMO. You’ll be able to swap between heroes on the fly, meaning you can play the game however you see fit. There’s also a crafting system to experiment with, player-versus-player combat, end game content and more characters/stories planned as DLC.
In my opinion, this is one thing that has made my 2013 that extra step brighter and cooler. Everyone loves at least one Marvel super hero and when they accounced this, I fell off my chair with excitement. Utterly amazing that they have brought this game to an online platform, especially a free-to-play game. It’s just an amazing thing that will surely grow big and also take the free-to-play MMORPG world by storm.1
