Underworld Ascendant: A Revolution of RPG-Genre

The developers of Ultima Underworld, which was released in 1992, have made some soaring claims. Ultima Underworld was a revolution and no other computer game offered a 360-degree freedom of movement feature in game and a full textured world.

The fact that it explored a fully textured world in Ultima Underworld from the ego perspective and with 360-degree movements, it created the future in gaming and later surfaced the way for games like the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and generally all games from the perspective of the ego. Such a revolution is not to be expected from Underworld Ascendant because of how different games look in 2015 compared to 1992.

It’s expected that Underworld Ascendant is to be a newer and fresher version of Ultima Underworld with some transformation in other areas of the game. The developers are looking to create something that’s more vibrant and has a more of a purpose than a backdrop therefore allowing monsters to have a real place and purpose in this world, some creatures are even civilized and pursue their own agendas.

Underworld Ascendant wants to award the creativity of players so changing up the innovation engine could be an area for improvement because in current games there is only a couple of ways to deal with certain situations where as Underworld Ascendant wants players to get creative and find multiple ways to overcome obstacles.

The game as a lot of potential and could easily be another one of the greatest developed games by the developer. The KickStarter campaign, which will fund Underworld Ascendant is underway with a goal of $600,000 and already have $473,621 with 16 days to go.

Do you think the developers will receive the funding? I can’t really see them receiving just shy of $200,000 in 16 days but we never know it’s all possible.
